What a delightful read-to and read-alone book. A book that any child can relate too. Poor scarecrow, he just had to know how he came about. The animals have great catchy names such as…big bird tall! It is a read again and again book that is cleverly illustrated making the book come alive. I’m sure I will have many happy times reading this to and with my grandson.

Above my expectations, this book aimed at 3-6 year olds is brilliant. The different use of font styles, the exciting story of how ‘bucket head’ came to be and the colourful ‘talk about’ characters, be them carrots, birds or snail come to life. Superb for children and those looking after them to read any time of day. Fuel the imagination. Looking forward to Jennies’ 3rd children’s book already.

  4. Poor little mite! Does anyone know how Scarecrow got his name? The kissing carrots didn’t, big bird tall didn’t, Mrs snail slimy was too slow to notice… read with enthusiasm and shared in the little ones excitement. A huge hit in the Stewart household. Can we have more of these wonderful characters please Jennie?
